The summer is realy coming!
In the last month there was quit a lot of sun and the temperature is still rising. I couldn’t wait for the city beach, so I’ve been to the beach at Rockanje. It was a little bit quiet, but it gave me a chance to finally finish my book.
On the beach a lot of construction took place, the beach tents are build up and the beach is getting cleaned for the season.

In a couple of days, the beach at the Maas will be opened!
It is one of those things I love about Rotterdam. You can relax in a lounge chair with a nice cocktail and lovely music, watching the ships pass by and enjoying the moment. The kickoff is on Wednesday 23th of May, at 7pm. We, Lisa and I, had marked this day for weeks now, now it’s only a couple of days away! For us it’s the kickoff of the summer season and we’re gonna party to the max.
Dj’s like Quinten de Rozario and Lucien Foort are going to be there, they are the best when you wanna chill and lounge on a city beach.
Till then I’ll be in the solarium, so I’ll be suntanned when the kickoff is there!

Sweet Diary

I've met some really nice people! When I was working at Use-it, I helped some English people with a accommodation for a couple of nights and some information about the nightlife of Rotterdam. After two hours of talking about all kinds of clubs and some funny bars at the Witte de With, they thought it would be nice if I showed them around that night. And I did.

They are real technofreeks, so I thought they would like Herr Zimmermann. But first we had dinner at Bazar and a few drinks in Cinema. They were great fun, I had a great laugh. One of the girls was so funny, she made jokes with the waiter and at Cinema she was flirting with a guy who she didn't like at all! The guys were so relaxed, they wanted to know almost everything about the partyscene, so I explained some strange things about the Dutch people when the guys served me more wine.

Round midnight we left Cinema and went to Herr Zimmermann. At the door we were queued up for half a hour and my new friends were getting restless. Meanwhile I text messaged Lisa, maybe she liked to come maybe she's already there. She was already inside, I'll meet her at the lady's room. When my new friends had find there own way in the club, I went looking for Lisa so I could introduce her to them. We all had a great night, we'd danced the night away and drunk too much ;o)

Hi sweet diary,

I just woke up, from a long a very long winter sleep. Like Sleeping Beauty I've been gone for a while. It wasn't the prince who waked me today, but the sweet spring sunshine burning on my face waked me this morning. Is the summer really coming....?

I am so sorry that I didn't write for quite some time, I'm gonna make it up to you!

I really feel great today, maybe it's the sun, maybe it's the good sleep, maybe it's girls wearing skirts again and guys wearing cool sunglasses. Anyway, days like this makes me wanna order a rosé and sit outside watch the people go by. So I called Lisa at noon and ask her if she wants to have a lunch with me to check out all the happy people. Unfortunately the terraces wont be open till May, so we had to compromise and we set down at a table near the window at the Rotown café and ordered two rosé and two sandwiches.

Lisa was talking on and on about her new boyfriend, he should be something special because she is babbling and her eyes are twinkling when she talks about him. She didn't even touch her sandwich, she's not hungry, she's in love, big time! Her devotion is entering my brain, I wanna go out tonight and meet some new people!

So tonight we, Lisa her new boyfriend and I, are gonna rock this party right! We are going to the LATIN ROCKERS in the Hollywood Music Hall. Maybe I get lucky tonight.
